The entire city was dead, probably like it's inhabitiants. Every building that I saw was reduced to ground zero. I was in shock and disbelief that one organization could do this to an entire city.

My eyes adjusted to the sudden darkness. Shivering underneath the thin coat, I made my way through the littered street. I checked for any surviving signs of life but couldn't find any. I went further into the city. A horrible stench flooded my nostrils and I knew right away what it was. Rotting flesh.

Something shifted behind me. I felt my claws growing and the rush of venom fill my mouth. With my guard up, I continued through the city. A sharp pain flared in my left heel. Looking down, I noticed a piece of glass with red flecks dotting the surface but something else caught my eye. The shadowy form of what appeared to be female loomed several feet behind me. I laughed to myself. "I can see you now."

She looked shocked for a second but then her expression wavered. She remained silent. "Do you speak English?" I asked her. "Can you understand me at all?"

"I'm not stupid." she replied stepping into the light. The female had a slightly tanned complexion and feathery brown hair. She also had an American accent.

"You snuck up behind a were-wolf. You could've had me fooled." That pissed her off entirely.

"I'm not the one whose wandering the streets at this time of night." she retorted. I gave her that one.

"Then why are you here?"

She smirked. "To protect you from them." she answered nodding to a group of what I thought were other people huddled in the corner. I took a closer look. They resembled people but weren't people. They were dead.

"Let's go before they notice us." she commented, turning on her heel and walking away. "Oh and by the way, my name is Donna."

"Okay, Donna, what are those things?" I asked, looking back to amke sure they weren't following us.

"Those 'things' as you so eloquently put it, are what Tablen engineered with the FREAK virus. Unfortunately for us, they are contagious. So whatever you do, just don't get bit." Donna said, loading a pistol and handing it to me. "Aim for the head."
