Donna shot a FREAK that started to close the distance between us. "What are you waiting for? Christmas?" she remarked. "Let's go!" donna started walking away but kept her eyes on the oncoming FREAKS.

"So this is what the virus can do to you?" I asked warily, shooting a FREAK that got too close to us.

Donna nodded. "Pretty much, yeah." she stopped to reload her pistol. "Most people thought that it was a side-affect of the chip."

I paused. "What chip?"

She stopped and looked at me. "I thought you knew already." Donna scratched the back of her head. "When Tablen created the first virus, it failed. the second time thy created it, they anted the virus to have a longer shelf life. So, scientists were somehow able to convert the bulk of the virus to a chip. Hence the creation of the FREAK chip." Once again, Donna shot an oncoming FREAK. "I'll explain more later. We need to get out of here, now."

Donna looked around for an open area. "There!" I said pointing to a surplus store that appeared to be safe.

Once inside, I locked the deadbolt and secured the windows. Donna was able to find guns and some food. "Go get some rest," she ordered," I'll keep watch." I nodded and found a place towards the back of the store.

I rested my head on my knees and let sleep take me away.

I heard someone's voice in the back of my mind. "I warned you and yet you still end up getting yourself in this situation."

Leave me alone, vampire. I thought.

Alucard laughed. "I didn't know how much damage one were-wolf could do to an entire company."

Well, now you do know. I responded. Can I get some sleep, orare you going to talk to me all night?

"Sleep. You'll need it." and with that his voice was gone.

A shiver ran down my spine and I jolted awake. I scanned the area around me as my eyes adjusted again. Propping myself up on one elbow, I found a set of neatly folded clothes and a pair of black combat boots. I changed quickly into the pair of black pants and silver shirt with a layer of chain mail to go on top. i laced the boots over the pant leg and joined Donna over by the window.

The sun peeked out over the clouds warming s for a breif second but vanished behind them again. "So," I asked," how did you get shang-haied into this business?"

Donna smirked. "I got hired a few years back in the States as a security officer. My bosses transferred me over here about three months ago.

"I overheard a couple of scientists talking about the incident in the States and I grew suspicious. I teamed up with a small resistance band in the city and started spying. I've been doing it ever since." she spit out her gum and yawned.

"You don't mind keeping watch for a few hours, do you?" she asked. I shook my head and watched as she stretched her arms out and walked to the placed where I slept. "There's food in the bottom left-hand cabinet." Donna mentioned before dozing off. I nodded and focused my gaze on the streets.
